- One central database for the authority and its schools
BPS ensures that the finance team within a Local Authority can guarantee that all their schools receive consistent financial data to allow them to produce accurate budgets and five year plans. BPS is effectively designed to work with early years, nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools with or without a sixth form, special schools and PRU’s.
- Approved budgets submitted directly back to the Local Authority
A key requirement stipulates that a school budget approved by the board of governors has to be locked, once submitted to the authority. With BPS a budget cannot be unlocked or amended in any way to ensure complete integrity, any change in underlying data of any nature will not impact upon an approved/submitted budget.
- Support and online access for the authority's school finance team
A number of schools can be allocated to an individual member of the school finance team for easy access. Finance Officers can support their schools from any location with an internet connection using a desktop, laptop or even a tablet device or smart phone; allowing you to access your budget anytime, anywhere and anyplace.
- Comprehensive initial setup capability
The Orovia support team provide a comprehensive initial setup service for any Local Authority regardless of which finance or payroll system is in place; these include Capita SIMS, RM, SAP, Civica, PS Financials and Aggresso. Local Authorities can therefore deliver a complete system, full of data to their schools including staffing, Section 251 funding and other school expenditure. This saves significant time at the initial phase of implementation and overcomes the concerns of schools about migrating to new technology.
- Software updates to introduce new features
Orovia encourage the finance teams from Local Authorities to suggest ways in which BPS can be enhanced for the benefit of all its users. We also hold an annual conference for key personnel from Local Authorities across the country to share best practice and steer the development of BPS.
